Your Air Force Personnel at Hill are not just warriors.
They are sons, daughters, parents and grandparents
who are very interested
in the local community.
You may have heard about the "Paint your Heart Out"
initiative. It involved painting the homes of disadvantaged
individuals
and folks who are having trouble making ends
meet. A simple act like sprucing up their home would truly
be a Godsend
to them.
When we put the word out, 100+ Airmen volunteered to help in this wonderful event. Many of these folks are
living in fixed incomes as well but their community minded spirit compelled them to come forward, roll up their slieves and go
to work.
The problem was the Airmen had to buy their own painting supplies so we put the word out to the community
and many fine folks stepped forward. We needed hundreds of paint brushes, rollers, ladders, all sorts of stuff, and the community
responded. Very special thanks to the
these wonderful merchants who helped by lending their support. We
ask that when you need supplies, you think of them first as they helped us help the community.
